The countdown is anchored to a real end-timestamp so it stays accurate even if the tab is in the background. Under the hood you also get a favicon progress ring, browser notifications when the tab is hidden, an optional voice cue at 5 min / 1 min / 30 s / 10 s, ambient rain and white-noise generators, and screen wake-lock so your phone doesn't sleep during a workout.
